▍ About the event
Paris, 1959. Jean-Luc Godard (1930–2022), a young film critic, makes his debut as a feature-film director. With actors Jean Seberg (1938–1979) and Jean-Paul Belmondo (1933–2021), filming begins on *Breathless*. An experimental project with no definitive script, this film represented a breath of fresh air by breaking with traditional narrative conventions, marking a moment of profound change in cinema. Thus was born the “Nouvelle Vague”, a cinematic movement characterised by its innovative approach to filmmaking and storytelling.
