Throughout the year, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Pombal organises a diverse range of activities and events aimed at older people and the wider community, providing opportunities for socialising, participation, learning and wellbeing. The initiatives aim to stimulate cognitive, physical, emotional and social abilities, whilst celebrating the life stories, traditions, interests and talents of each participant. Among the various offerings are cultural and recreational activities, music, dance, artistic expression, cognitive stimulation, celebrations of special occasions, outings, visits, intergenerational activities and initiatives to promote local traditions. Through these experiences, the aim is to combat social isolation, promote active and participatory ageing, and strengthen the bond between the care home and the community, creating moments of sharing, joy and closeness.
